以中年消防官员许淘的视角，回顾了一众消防员的热血故事。队长何戎，在消防安全的问题上有着严苛的要求，严令的背后压抑着眼见队友牺牲的痛。却也因全情对消防的投入，忽略了家人。副队长路超，放不下消防，割舍不下部队，甚至不惜服用药品来坚持这份事业。王东，带着消防人的传承精神来到部队，热爱音乐、青春可爱，却在一次次火场救援中展露出勇敢与坚持。而许淘更是从一个骄纵不羁的纨绔子弟，在消防的战场上，在一次次见证生死的争夺、甚至挚友牺牲之后，完成了他的成长与新生。又逢新兵入伍，当他以领路人的姿态回顾起那段峥嵘岁月，才发现原来消防精神的传承早在冥冥之中，播下种子……。A film version of a play Fassbinder directed in Hamburg, Clare Booth Luce's "The Women".
