罗勃（查尔斯·纳佩尔饰）和妻子苏珊（金伯利·凯茨饰）来到苏联度假，某晚，罗勃和昔日同僚洛德（弗兰克·扎格里诺饰）碰面，罗勃向洛德透露，他这次来苏联名为度假，实为奉美国总统之命，调查俄国核子弹头卖给恐怖分子的事情。就在罗勃叙述此行目的的当口，突然有两个人闯进以机关枪射杀了罗勃。侥幸逃脱的洛德，找到了苏珊，希望能求得一丝线索。随着他们的调查，他们发现俄国军方及黑道都参与了核武的...。An astronaut comes back to Earth and crashes in a field, incredibly irradiated and wreaking havoc. Just as they have him cornered, he disappears, and the "real" astronaut is found 7,500 miles away in the Pacific Ocean, "alive, well, and of normal size."。
