本系列是中国纪录片史上首个从空中覆盖全国、记录当下中国真实面貌的大型系列纪录片，片中呈现了北京、广西、青海、湖北、香港、西藏、澳门、辽宁、台湾、重庆、河南等11个行政区的自然生态、人文景观、经济社会发展面貌，展现出新时代的中国形象、文化精神及中国之治，通过航拍的视角向世人展示了一个熟悉又新鲜的美丽、生态、文明中国。。Two narrators, one seen and one unseen, discuss possible connections between a series of paintings. The on-screen narrator walks through three-dimensional reproductions of each painting, featuring real people, sometimes moving, in an effort to explain the series' significance.。
