With nothing to lose, three young tri...。1950年代，北方某农村。黄土屯土地贫瘠十年九旱，农业社成立后，吴大成（王琪饰）任社主任兼支书，他决心带领乡亲们打井抗旱，改变家乡面貌。村里坏人钱三泰（李保罗饰）趁机搞破坏，使大成的努力前功尽弃，加之养子小旺（孙水平饰）的突然出走，使本来眼睛不好的妻子银花（秦怡饰）双目失明。深明大义的银花为了不拖累大成的工作，强忍失明痛苦，不断为丈夫出主意想办法。大成深感自己在工作中的急躁情绪影响了大伙，他努力克服着缺点，并及时向上级组织汇报情况以讨得解决问题的方法。通过发动群众，他们终于揪出了暗藏的阶级敌人，受蒙蔽出走的小旺也回到了黄土屯......。
